Year 6 WW2 Day
WW2 Day was really fun. We got to travel back in time and experience what it would be like if we were children in the war. Our “teacher”, Miss Harper, taught us how to put on our gas masks if there was a bombing while we were on the train being evacuated. We also did some role play and acted out scenes about rationing, evacuation and the Blitz. Later on, Mrs Garland made us some scones and some “Poor Knight’s Fritters” using war-time rations. They were actually quite nice! We also did some Blitz art using a colour wash and silhouettes of the London skyline. We really enjoyed it and now know much more about the Second World War.
