World Environment Day
World Environment Day (WED) is celebrated every year on the 5th June and is the United Nation’s main way of encouraging awareness and action for the protection of our environment. To honour WED, our Recycling Team have been focussing on reducing plastics The Recycling Team will be giving you regular messages about how to keep the planet a clean and healthy place. We advise you to stop using too much plastic – starting with plastic straws. You can help by using paper straws because each plastic straw you use the world gets more and more dangerous. Occasionally you might see restaurants handing out straws made of pasta. This is really helping the environment because they’re easy to use and they won’t harm the planet. You can also use a metal straw which is non-disposable so you can just re-use them. We hope you start making an improvement to our planet by stopping using plastic straws.
