The Choir perform at Kneller Hall
On Tuesday and Wednesday this week, Nel-son school choir joined with St Edmunds school choir to sing carols with the Royal Military School of Music.
We had been practising hard, learning our words off by heart. We even went to Kneller Hall for practice. The band had trumpets, trombones, tubas, drums, gongs and saxophones to name a few. The army band were dressed in their ceremonial uniforms and looked very smart. Some of the soldiers were very tall and played amazingly. In one song the cornets played a fanfare and it was really loud. We were lucky as we were given earplugs to wear. The Royal Military School of Music have been serving the community for 163 years and we were very proud to be part of their last concert.
The Mayor was sat in the VIP row behind the choir. Some of us were lucky to be able to sit in front of her. She did a speech that was interesting and quoted Abba. It was quite a late night as there were a lot of songs. We ended at around 9.30 pm! Thank you to Miss McIntosh, Mrs Cavill and the teachers from St Edmunds for their support.
