‘Getting To Know You’ Information
Curriculum
Autumn 1 and 2 Overview 2020 -21
Parent Reps
Each class will need two class representatives for the year. Please let your child’s class teacher know as soon as you can if you wish to be a class rep.
Good Times Challenge
We will be continuing with the Good Times Challenge. The GTC sheet will be sent out on Friday for your child to practise in preparation for their timed test on Wednesday. Homework will be sent out on Wednesday, to be completed by the following Monday.
Enrichment Activities
There will be many exciting events and this year, including a special visitor from Hampton Court and ‘Tudor Day’ in the Autumn term. Later in the year, there will also be an exciting workshop from Mexicolore.
School Diary
As per last year, the school will provide each child with a diary. This contains lots of useful information about the school and exciting facts. The children will be given the opportunity at the end of every day to write something about their day at school. They will then bring their diaries home for you to look at. Please can you ensure that they are bringing them to school with them every day.
P.E
Your child will have P.E on Wednesday and Thursday every week. They should come to school in their P.E kits on those days. Once the weather gets colder they can wear tracksuit bottoms or leggings in addition to school jumpers.
Home Learning
Your child will be given, at the start of each half term, a sheet with a selection of home learning projects for them to do and then to bring to school when finished. These will continue to be optional. In addition, your child will receive weekly spellings which will be provided on Wednesday to be tested on the following Monday.
Medication
Please ensure that the office/welfare has up to date information regarding medication for children to be administered at school. Also, please check that medication is within date. This is particularly important for Epipens and asthma inhalers.
Contact Information
If you have moved recently or changed home or mobile telephone number, please let us know. It is vital that we can contact you quickly if your child is unwell.
