Staff Training

All staff employed at Nelson Primary School participate in accredited Level 1 Safeguarding Training on a regular basis, with refresher training session at start of every academic year. Furthermore, in accordance with statutory requirements, all employees undergo Prevent Training every two years. As part of their Continuous Professional Development (CPD), our staff also engage in various relevant training sessions pertaining to safeguarding, FGM, child protection, and online safety throughout the year. Safeguarding updates are provided during weekly staff meetings.

The table below highlights the primary safeguarding certifications held by our Safeguarding Team. We take pride in noting that our School Office Manager, Mrs. Cavill, has received training in Safer Recruitment.
